Sashiko and One-Stitch Sashiko (Hitomezashi)
This workshop begins with a short introduction to sashiko and how to make sashiko stitches. After practicing on pre-stenciled fabric, you will learn how to transfer the designs of your choice onto sashiko-suitable fabrics.
You will discover a modern application of sashiko by making samples that can then be made into a drawstring bag, cushion or incorporated into a quilt. This is a technical workshop in which we show you how sashiko can be used as an element on everyday textiles.
Kit includes: tsumugi fabric and navy blue pre-printed fabric, sashiko needle, sashiko thread and thimble.
Supplies: You will also need to bring sharp fabric scissors, pins, a ruler and tape.
Pricing:
The price for a day of workshops is 120€, this price includes basic workshop kits, hot drinks, lunch and small sweets ;)
