Kurume Kasuri in cotton - approximately 36cm wide
Kas-07
Kasuri (more often referred to as ikat) is both a manufacturing method, a 200-year-old know-how and the resulting fabric. Its particularity consists of dyeing the threads before weaving, unlike fabrics on which the patterns are printed after their design. Kasuri is characterized by patterns with blurred edges, which gives it a somewhat rustic appearance. We generally weave twelve meters of fabric to a width of approximately 36 cm. This standard length, called tan-mono, corresponds to the quantity needed to make a kimono.
