SASHIKO BLOK VAN DE MAAND QUILT

18 février 2020

We are pleased to announce that the Sashiko Block of the Month Quilt is now available in Europe. We are beginning the first program in April and we are now taking registrations.

The Sashiko Block of the Month Quilt is designed by Jane MacDonald as a throw/lap quilt. The finished size is approximately 130cm x 105cm however the quilt could quite easily be made larger if you decide to add more at the end of the program.

Jane has kept this quilt design quite simple to feature kamon patterns, as well as highlighting boro/slow stitching, appliqué and transferring designs. Jane decided to include sashiko stitch dragonflies on the border as a way of illustrating how to transfer sashiko designs. Jane shows that transferring designs is an important and easy skill to learn that can be used in future projects.

This sashiko quilt has been designed by Jane MacDonald in Australia. A renowned teacher of sashiko, Jane has created this project as a statement piece, for those who enjoy all aspects of sashiko.

Included in this BOM are all the fabrics for the quilt top, instructions, chaco paper, sashiko thread, sashiko needles and thimble. Extra requirements to finish the quilt are quilting thread, binding, backing and wadding. Only fabrics and sashiko thread made in Japan are used to make this quilt, including pre-stencilled tsumugi cotton and woven stripes.

There are 9 mail outs in total and pricing varies slightly depending on postal costs to your delivery destination. Please check the website for more information. If you have any further questions please send us a message we are more than happy to help.
