Welcome to the 2024 edition of our popular BOM program!

Description 

This Block of the Month designed by Jane MacDonald is a Traditional Sashiko Tsumugi quilt with a little twist.

Quilt size approximately 165cm x 190cm (65in x 75in). The quilt could quite easily be made larger if you decided to add more at the end of the program.

Jane says: "I have kept this quilt design quite simple to show off the 32 traditional blocks. I’ve also included some easy appliqué and method to transfer sashiko stitched shapes on the border. I felt it an important and easy skill to learn so that you will be able to transfer any sashiko pattern you like."

Included in this BOM are all the fabrics for the quilt top including the pieced border, binding, instructions, sashiko thread, sashiko needles, chaco paper and thimble.

Pre-stencilled tsumugi cotton fabric is used to make this quilt which is 100% made in Japan.

Payment and postage

The monthly cost of this subscription is 20€ per month (shipping excluded)

To register for this program, please purchase this first double block with the method of your choice. We will send you a credit card payment link for monthly credit card payments and invoicing. 

Payments by credit card will be automatically made on the first of the month in February, March, April, May, June, July, August, Septembre, October and Novembre. 

Mail outs will be sent approximately on the 15th of February, April, June, August, October, Decembre.

The first mail out is a large parcel with fabrics to cut, material and instructions, you will have to cut fabrics to final size so a mat, rotary cutter and patchwork ruler are highly recommended. Please always follow our instructions to the letter.

Fabrics are distributed throughout the rest of the program. The 6th and final mail out will include the border and method to put the quilt top together. 

If you want to add other items such as fabric for backing and wadding to complete your quilt at the end of the program, we can add them to the final mail out. A reminder will be sent in time.

Basic skills in patchwork and quilting are assumed in the instructions, a facebook group is organised to share your journey through the making of this beautiful quilt

The measurements are in inches (1'' corresponds to 2,54cm) we strongly recommend to purchase a ruler in inches to follow the instructions precisely. You can add a Patchwork Ruler in Inches to this order and we will send it with your first mail out.
